Orange Lemonade's music is a way to celebrate our love of music. We constantly reference artists who inspire us in our work. Our lyrics reflect on worldly problems, while still incorporating a sarcastic tone and a layer of humor from someone who doesn't want to take themselves too seriously. We inspire ourselves with artists like Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Damien Marley, Ocean Alley, and Sticky Fingers, but we also incorporate a healthy dose of the culture we grew up in, in southern Brazil, admiring artists like Dazaranha, Armandinho, and many alternative rock bands from Curitiba.
Our music is diverse. The song "Viola's Song", for instance, is inspired by the viola pagode genre created by Tião Carreiro, just one of the many artists we listen to as we alternate between city life, country life, and the sea. Living in southern Brazil, you'll have a wide range of experiences, sometimes in completely rural places listening to country music, and other times by the sea enjoying relaxing music inspired by Jamaican reggea and Californian ska. The blend of all these sounds creates something that, to us, sounds like "Island Song," a type of music you only truly understand if you've had the opportunity to enjoy nightlife in a coastal town. It's the sound we want to make!
